Jammu: As many as 8 Private Members Bills were moved in the House today. After discussion, of which 3 were rejected by voice vote, 4 withdrawn and one was allowed to introduce.
The Bills moved by Jugal Kishore regarding amendment of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Act 2008 (LC Private Members Bill No 4 of 2013), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act No XII of 1999 (LC Private Members Bill No 5 of 2013) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Act No XVI of 1988 (LC Private Members Bill No 6 of 2013) were rejected by voice vote.
The Bills moved by Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri regarding amendment of State Ranbir Penal Code Samvat 1989 (LC Private Members Bill No 8 0f 2013), Jammu and Kashmir Code of Criminal Procedure Act Samvat 1989 ( LC Private Members Bill No 9 of 2013) and a bill to prohibit indecent representation of women through advertisement or in publications, writings, painting , figures or in any other manner and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto ( LC Private Members Bill No 10 of 2013) were withdrawn after assurance of the Government.
Accordingly, A bill moved by Dr. Shahnaz Ganai regarding amendment of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Raj Act 1989 (LC Private Members Bill No 2 of 2013) was allowed to introduce while a bill to amend the Ranbir Penal Code, Samvat 1989, the Code of Criminal Procedure, Samvat 1989 and the Evidence Act, Samvat 1977 (LC Private Members Bill No 1 of 2013) was withdrawn by the member. |
