Eidgah to be developed as historical place: Speaker
Rousing welcome to Mubarak Gul in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A warm welcome was given to Mr. Mubarak Gul by his party workers at his arrival at Church Lane Srinagar today as a gesture on being elevated as Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly by the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah recently.
Mr. Gul was received by the party workers at Srinagar Airport with a rousing welcome and then was accompanied in a cavalcade upto Church Lane to address his party workers.
Addressing the workers, Mr. Mubarak Gul expressed his gratitude to all those people who welcomed him and paid tributes to those people who are no more now. He expressed his thanks for the people of Eidgah for electing him again and again in Eidgah Constituency.
Mr. Gul said that he will be always fair and impartial while his performing duties as speaker, adding that he had requested opposition not to boycott the Assembly proceeding, but they put deaf ear. He said ‘’I passed two resolutions with voice votes, which I feel very much’’.
Mr. Mubarak Gul expressed the need to implement Rehabilitation Policy in a positive manner so that good faith is developed in the youth of J&K State. He also said that both the countries India and Pakistan should work out the all issues on the table, adding violence is no solution to any matter.
Referring to the development of Eidgah Constituency, Mr. Gul reaffirmed his resolve to developed Eidgah Constituency as a historical place. He said soon after taking over as Speaker Legislative Assembly, he convened a meeting of various Commissioners/Secretaries and issued orders for proper implementation of all developmental and welfare schemes in a stipulated timeframe with special attention to the quality of the work.
Mr. Mubarak Gul while expressing his feelings over the bus accident recently said that he had constituted two committees headed by respective Divisional Commissioners to ensure checking of fitness and other related matter of school buses.
Mr. Gul thanked the delegates who have come from all the corners of the Valley for giving him such a great welcome. He also thanked party cadre including opposition leaders for giving him chance to become a Speaker of Legislative Assembly.
Earlier, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Lone, Block President Eidgah, Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Mir Chairman, Rural Development Society, Raja Mohammad Ashraf Khan, Chairman Rural Development North Kashmir, Haji Mohammad Maqbool M ir and other party workers also spoke on the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah for elevating Mr. Gul as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
The works of the Eidgah Constituency also submitted their charter of demands to their leader with the request to ensure fulfillment of all these demands within coming years. Later, Mr. Gul visited Asar-i-Sharief Hazratbal and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State. He also visited the graveyard of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and prayed fateh there.
