| Lone distributes job letters at GWC, Gandhi Nagar | | | JAMMU: Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone this evening distributed job letters among fresh engineering graduates at Government Women College Gandhi Nagar. The Function was organized by Departmental training and placement, Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu. Principal of the College, Prof Atula Dhar in her welcome address apprised the Minister about the achievements registered by the College during last couple of years. Special Secretary Higher Education Mr. Hemant Kumar, Director Colleges, Prof Nalni Kohli, Principal Government women’s College Prade, Prof Hemla Aggarwal, Principal Government Women’s College Gandhi Nagar, Prof Kiran Bakshi, Joint Director Information, Jammu, Ms. Samita Sethi, senior functionaries of host college and large number of students were present on the occasion. Around 80 engineering graduates who had completed their professional degrees in various streams including civil, electrical and mechanical engineering were provided job letters by the Minister. Addressing the function the Minister said that the Government is contemplating to encourage the efficient functioning of engineering colleges in private sector and steps are afoot to boost the morale of top professionals to open a chain of private engineering colleges to provide students ample opportunities to groom within State and serve the people with spirit and courage. Appreciating the teachers for providing quality education to the students, the Minister urged upon them to maintain the tempo of teaching in future also so that more and more students come out with flying colours. Earlier, the students presented a joint prayer which bagged a great applause from the audience. |
