| ADDC reviews empowerment of PRI’s | | |
DODA: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Doda, G.N Balwan, today convened a meeting of district officers and Sarpanches to review the action taken and achievements made by the departments in empowering PRI’s in the district .
Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC), Anil Koul, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Rakesh Kumar, besides Block Development Officer and other officers of line departments attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Balwan underlined the need to further strengthen the cooperation between PRI’s and different departments in the district for empowerment and development of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the region. He directed the officers to fully implement government order in this regard in letter and spirit and asked the officers to involve and consult PRI’s in the planning and implementation of various schemes and programs in their respective areas.
He said that the PRIs must be consulted and satisfied about the programmes carried out by the respective departments in their areas to the extent of powers devolved to them under the Panchayati Raj Act besides reporting on monthly basis be ensured with complete details to bring transparency in the functioning of departments and PRI’s.
Sarpanches projected various issues concerning their respective panchayats seeking an early redressal to the same. |
