| Beautification of Jamia Masjid to start soon: Sagar | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 25 : Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has asked the concerned officers to take up the beautification project of Jamia Masjid and its catchment areas as early as possible. The Minister was interacting with the officers during his extensive tour of the old city Srinagar here today. He was accompanied by various officers of different departments and executive officers. While responding to the demands of locals at Mallaratta, the Minister said that the instructions have already been issued to the concerned Officers for preparing a detailed project report for constructing a community hall in the locality with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.5 crore. He said that the government has already constructed several Community halls in various parts of the city for the convenience of the common people. With regard to the widening of road from BohriKadal to PandanNowhatta, Mr. Sagar said that the Government will soon take up the issue and added that Government is committed to ensure better transport mobility in different parts of the old city. Mr.Sagar also directed the officers to speed up the process of acquisition of shops and structures at Zana-Kadal and provide adequate compensation to the people whose properties are acquired. He said that the development of whole area is being taken up on the heritage pattern and in this regard a comprehensive project has already been made and is being executed. Interacting with the people during his visit to different localities, the Minister said that the Government is committed to ensure holistic development of the Srinagar city and in this regard several projects have already been taken up in hand. However, the Minister asked people that they should not pay any heed to the divisive propaganda of certain parties who are spreading lies and selling false promises. |
