HANDWARA : Minister for CA&PD, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan today visited Sheikhpora, Rajwar where seven houses were gutted in a devastated fire incident yesterday.
The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara and concerned officers of district administration.
During the visit, the Minister distributed first instalment of ex-gratia relief cheques worth Rs. 24250/- among each fire suffer under IAY. He directed Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to provide Kitchen sets, blankets, tents and other assistance out of District Red Cross Society Kupwara among the fire victims. He also directed the Assistant Director CA&PD to provide 50 Kgs of ration to each fire suffers.
Earlier, District Administration provided Rs. 2000 to each fire victim as an immediate relief.
He assured the people that necessary steps would be taken to rehabilitate the families of fire sufferers. He assured them that adequate timber will also be provided for reconstruction of their houses. |
