BIKANER/JAISALMER, May 26: Alert Border security force personnel foiling an incursion and shot dead an intruder at the international border near Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan. Nothing was recovered from the intruder who is said to 35 to 40 years of age.
No flag meeting has been organized yet over the issue. Four intrusions were detected this month and two intruders were handed over to Pakistan. The BSF increased its alertness levels in the sector following continuous movement of smugglers and other suspicious elements from Pakistan.
Rajasthan BSF DIG RK Thapa said that at 3:50 am, alert jawans deployed at Varsha border post in Sriganganagar sector of the Rajasthan border saw a Pakistani intruder entering into the Indian border.
He said that border guards asked the intruder to stop, but instead of stopping the intruder started climbing the fencing. Despite repeated warning, the intruder did not stop and was then shot dead. Pakistan has so far not reacted to this intrusion.
