| Weather Gods shower plenty of rain to beat sweltering heat | | | JAMMU, May 26 : Jammuites looking for much needed respite from hot and humid weather conditions heaved a sigh of relief on Sunday afternoon with weather gods showering plenty of rain across the region. The immediate fallout of the brief spell of showers was felt by one and all as it brought smile on other wise drenched faces soaked in sweat. The mercur fell by more than 4-6 degrees even as cool winds were experienced by the city denizens after the showers for longer duration. Large number of people ventured out of their houses in the company of their friends and family members to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air. The city parks and eating joints were flooded with visitors in the evening. Before the rains lashed the region high speed dust storm left many high and dry. Farmers awaiting onset on monsoon in the coming days are now keeping their fingers crossed for timely rains during the ongoing sowing season.
