Sham inaugurates Tube well Scheme at Ardhan-Nore
‘Provision for better roads, civic amenities in every area govt’s priority’

JAMMU : Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr Sham Lal Sharma, today inaugurated a Water Supply Scheme (WSS) tube-well at Ardhan-Nore in Tehsil Akhnoor constructed at a cost of Rs.184.28 lakh under Border Area Development Programme (BADP). Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sham said that with the commissioning of the water supply scheme tube well adequate quantity of water has become available for meeting the drinking water requirements of the area. He said that a population of 3500 souls of Nore, Jakh, Dhara, Ardhan villagees and adjoining areas would be benefited by the water supply scheme. He asked the PHE authorities to lay drinking water supply pipes in the uncovered areas and also asked the people to use water judiciously. Regarding development side, the Minister said that during last hen four years unprecedented development has been witnessed in the state. He said that during this period several projects pertaining in PHE, Irrigation, Education, Health and Power have been taken in hand. He asked the executive agencies to make optimum use of funds and complete the projects in a time bound manner. He urged the people to personally monitor the development works being executed in their respective areas. He said that faster development of rural and hilly areas was on the top priority of the development agenda of the government. Mr Sham said that government was keen to reach out to people in every area, address their grievances and accommodate the demands in a phased manner to ensure holistic and integrated development of every region of the state. He said panchayat would prove an effective tool in this regard. “Panchayat would determine the schemes, formulate plans and execute works as per the requirement of the areas under their jurisdiction”, he added.
