| Shabir seeks people’s cooperation for prosperous J&K | | Says Rs. 1.50 Cr earmarked for dev of Rajouri, Dongi blocks | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 6 : Minister of State for Health Mr Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that that several innovative and exemplary measures were taken by the Government during last over four years for all-round development of hilly and border areas with special thrust on expansion of education, healthcare and road connectivity facilities. Addressing public gathering at border village Chokli Dehrian, the Minister said that flagship programmes like NRHM, MGNREGA, RGGY, and RAMSA have pushed forward the development process in border and remote areas of the State. He said pro people policies have transformed socio-economic profile of weaker sections in the State. The Minister said that Rs 1.50 crore is being spent for upgradation of basic amenities in Rajouri and Dongi blocks under BADP during current fiscal. He said a whopping amount of is also being utilized under MGNREGA in these blocks. He said the work on ChokliDehrianBridge is apace at a cost of Rs. 44 lakhs and after completion it would provide connectivity facility to over 6000 population of the area. Mr Shabir said Government has launched several welfare schemes for up-liftment of poor section of society especially living in border areas. He called upon them to take full benefits of these schemes. He assured the people that all their genuine developmental needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner and asked Panchs and Sarpanchs to play their role in the development of their respective areas. The Minister called upon the people to provide their wholehearted cooperation to the Government for making Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous State. He also stressed upon them not to heed on false propaganda of vested interests whose motive is only to create wedge in the development process of the State and use innocent people for their personal and political interests. |
