Div Com visits Dargah Hazratbal, reviews arrangements for Mehraj-e-Aalam (SAW)

SRINAGAR, June 6: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar Thursday morning visited Dargah Hazratbal and took stock of the arrangements being put in place for the smooth celebration of Mehraj-e-Aalam (SAW). Senior divisional level civil and police officers accompanied. Divisional Commissioner went around the Shrine at Hazratbal and reviewed the arrangements including cleanliness, drainage, electricity, drinking water etc. on spot. He also inspected the stalls being established by various departments.
Divisional Commissioner also convened a meeting at Dargah where officers briefed him about the arrangements being put in by the concerned departments.
Divisional Commissioner was informed that 320 water supply posts have been installed around Dargah Sharief, besides 2 water tankers shall be kept available for providing potable drinking water to the devotees.
He was also informed that better arrangements for cleanliness and illumination have been made by the SMC and PDD.
Health department has also deployed medical team of doctors and para medical staff for medicare facilities, besides ensure availability of ambulance. On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner enjoined upon the officers to put in their best efforts and ensure all facilities to the devotees visiting Dargah on Shabi Mehraj and its following Friday.
He also directed DIG Traffic to keep one senior officer available for overseeing hassle free traffic movement during the Mehraj celebration. He also directed Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation to replace old dust bins wherever required in the area.
Among others, who accompanied the Divisional Commissioner were District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, DIG Traffic, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Chief Engineers of PHE and R&B, Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar and other concerned officers, besides Secretary, Wakf Board and Controller Dargah.
