Time bound completion of works vital for development: Wani
Lays foundation stone for roads, buildings

DODA, June 6 : Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani, who is on an extensive tour to erstwhile Doda district, today laid foundation stone for various roads and buildings in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Wani said that time bound completion of infrastructural development works is vital for all round development and economic upliftment of state. He said various road projects have been taken up while as many others are going on in the State and erstwhile district Doda adding that the government is determined for time bound and speedy completion of ongoing projects.
Wani said the present coalition government has taken up various infrastructural development works in the state with special focus on unattended areas. He added that a number of road and building projects have been launched in the district to further enhance road connectivity for better development of the area. Later, the Minister convened a meeting of officers and reviewed the pace of ongoing works in the district. He directed the officers to ensure timely, qualitative execution and completion of works which is prime concern of the Government.
Wani also inspected various interior roads of Doda town and directed the Engineering wing of various Departments to work in a coordinated manner so that loss of time and material could get minimized during execution of their respective developmental works. The Minister laid foundation stone of 4.3 km Link road from Ghat via Nagri to Qasimpura which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 300 lakh and 2.5 km Doda link road – Housing Colony Akramabad road via Court Complex to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 401 lakh, Office Building of Assistant Controller Drugs and Designated Officer at Doda which is going to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 91.65 lakh and construction/upgradation of 4 km Malwas link road under NABARD which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 363 lakh. DDC, Doda, Mubarak Singh, Chief Engineer R&B, Tehsin Mustafa, ADDC, G.N Balwan besides Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Doda, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Doda, Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda and other officers were present on the occasion.
