| Taj inaugurates Kabbadi tournament | | |
SRINAGAR: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Mr. Taj Mohi ud Din inaugurated the three day interstate Kabaddi tournament here today. The three day tournament is being organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports.
Addressing the inaugural function, the Minister said the State Government has given sports a relook and the sports infrastructure across the State is being upgraded. He said every block in the State would have a sports complex and every panchayat would have a playfield.
Mr. Taj said time has come when the hidden talent of the youth of the state would be exploited properly and the day is not far when many of the youth from J&K would be making it to the nationals.
The Minister said Centre has agreed to a sports package to the State under which the sports infrastructure would be upgraded and strengthened. He said under the package every town would have an indoor stadium and all the existing stadia in the State would be equipped with sports equipment. In all teams from 21 states comprising 230 players would be attending the three day sports meet. |
