| Deadly attack on Nato supply convoy in Pakistan | | | Pakistan: At least six people have been killed following an attack on a Nato supply convoy bound for Afghanistan, officials in Pakistan say. Gunmen with rockets and assault rifles fired at three lorries which caught fire in Pakistan's north-western Khyber tribal region. Pakistan has been a key transit route for the Nato mission in landlocked Afghanistan. Local officials told media they did not know who was behind the attack. The Khyber region lies on a major route used by Nato to carry its supplies from Pakistan's port city of Karachi to its mission in Afghanistan. The attack took place early on Monday, when the road was packed with lorries carrying commercial and military supplies. Officials say that between 15 to 20 men dressed in local police uniform fired at the lorries, killing the drivers and some of their helpers. Violent attacks against Nato supply trucks are not uncommon in the Khyber region, says the BBC's M Ilyas Khan in Islamabad.
