Absconding vice-president of KCB gets anticipatory bail

PUNE, June 17: He is allegedly involved in the murderous assault on Vehicle Entry Tax (VET) contractor Vivek Yadav .The HC had earlier granted bail to four other accused who too had gone absconding. Anand has been on the run since February 13, when Yadav and his two employees were assaulted in front of the KCB office where they had gone to buy the tender forms to participate in the bidding for toll contracts.
The Pune Crime Branch has so far arrested 11 people in the case and filed a chargesheet last month.

The cops at Khadki police had booked Anand and others under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 397 (dacoity), 34 (common intention) of the IPC, and other relevant sections of the Arms Act, Bombay Police Act and Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
