Jammu, June 17 : Class-IVth, Casual Labourers and Safai Karamcharis of Jammu University today took out a peaceful rally under the banner of Non Gazetted Employees Union (NGEU) in the Campus.
Leading the rally, Krishan Chand, President, NGEU said that their peaceful rally has entered into 39th day today and the chain hunger strike enters into 7th day today but the authorities at the helm of affairs are going very slow and repeatedly taking time on one plea or another. Krishan vociferously urged the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor to settle their issue of regularization at an earliest so that the stagnant and nightmares they are facing since last 17-18 years are over now. Vijay Kumar, Gen. Secy. NGEU also appealed the cadres to remain present in large numbers daily to make the historic movement a great success. Meanwhile, the employees who sat on chain hunger strike include Subash Chander, Satpal Sharma, Mohd Amin Bhat, Balbir Kumat and Ravi Kumar. |
