| Sakina appeals youth to take up self-employment venture | | | SRINAGAR: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings, Ms Sakina Itoo Wednesday said that the Government is providing succor to unemployed educated youth through Sher-i-Kashmir Employment Scheme, besides soft loans for setting up of income generating units through various central and state government schemes.
Appealing youth to take maximum benefit of the schemes the Minister said that there is no dearth of funds and every unemployed youth should take up the self-help ventures for earning dignified and respectable livelihood for themselves as well as their families. She said that the decision taken by present government for panchyati elections was a bold initiative, aimed at de-centralizing the authority to grass root level and also for ensuring sound infrastructural development of far flung and remote areas of the State.She said that the pace of progress on various developmental schemes is apace and government is committed to cover all the uncovered areas in respect of providing basic amenities to the people.
Lauding the role of young and dynamic Chief Minister of the State Omar Abdullah in fulfilling the commitments, Ms Sakina said that besides extending safe drinking water, adequate power supply and required medicare facilities, the government is making all out efforts to set up a network of educational institutions both elementary as well as higher education at the door steps of the people,
Referring to the demand of constructing protection bund on river Vishno near Asthal village, the Minister assured that the government will take up the construction work of protection bund as well as the bridge shortly.
She also announced a craft training centre through Social Welfare Department and other necessities required by the people of the area.
Various sectoral officers accompanied the Minister during the tour. |
