Kulgam: The main opposition party People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered a major jolt with parting way by large number of its workers and joining the ruling regime. As many as 49 workers of PDP today joined one of the ruling regimes, National Conference at D.H. Pora in north Kashmir in presence of Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo. These workers joined the ruling National Conference party during the public meetings held at villages Manzgam and Chekiwatoo of Block D. H. Pora Noorabad Constituency here today, which were addressed by the Minister. Addressing the well-attended public meetings at above said villages, Ms. Ittoo said that after the inspiration and people friendly policies of the ruling Government headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, such large number of workers from the main opposition party has joined the National Conference. While welcoming the workers in the party fold, the Minister said that the party will give them due honour to each worker and hoped that with the joining of party by these workers, the National Conference will strengthen its base at the grass root level in the area. She asked them to serve the people and spread the programmes and policies of the National Conference and Coalition Government at the grass root level. The newly joined workers also addressed the gathering and said that they have full faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and local MLA and Social Welfare Minister, Ms. Sakina Ittoo and they have joined the NC after inspired by the development scenario of the Government. They assured that they will work hard for strengthening the party in the area.
