Early Times Report JAMMU, July 20 : Civic Safakaramchari Union, Drivers and Cleaners Union, Clerical Union of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today called off their two days long strike after Municipal Authorities agreed to consider their long pending demands during a meeting held with representatives of unions. While addressing a press conference, President Safakaramchari Union, Rinku Gill said during meeting, JMC authority has said DPC meeting will be convened on 24/07/2013 to consider promotion cases of all Municipal Cadres, re-organization and increase to the wages of 200 casual labour SKC`s as already recommended to the Administrative Dept will be pursued jointly by the Municipal Authorities and representatives of Municipal Employees Unions, regularization case of Contractual Drivers, Computer Operators, Surveyors, Tech. Asttt. will be considered as & when reorganization proposal is approved and vacancies made available as per norms. Besides, regarding scrapping of NGO`s system, it was unanimously agreed that a committee of Municipal Officers will formulate a list of NGO workers and forward to the government by or before 31st Aug.2013 for consideration and redressal of the demand/resolution put forth by the Municipal Employees Unions. The Unions warned the Administration if they failed to consider their demands then the employees have no other option to restore the suspended strike without any further notice. Those who were present in the meeting included Rinku Gill, MOhd, Younas, Rohit George, Jarnail Khokhar, Sanju Burat, Anil Bali, Gulzar Masih, Jeewan singh, Sushil Singh, Ram Chand, Ashwani Siddhu and Ravinder Bhatt. |
