SAMBA : District Development Commissioner, R.K Verma, on Thursday held a public grievances camp at Village Rakh Kangwala to take stock of grievances and demands of the border people besides reviewing status of ongoing development works in the area. Assistant Commissioner (Dev.) Samba, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), Executive Engineer (PHE), Executive Engineer (EM & RE) besides heads of various departments of the district were present on the occasion. Representatives from different Panchayats apprised the DDC of their problems and demands which included safe drinking water supply, land compensation, cultivation of land across the fencing, supply of APL ration, repairing of roads, regular supply of electricity, up gradation of transformers, resurvey of BPL etc. The DDC instructed the concerned officers to look into the demands and problems raised by the people for an early redressal. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said the motive behind holding such meetings was to have firsthand knowledge about the problems of the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings. He impressed upon all the heads of departments to work with missionary zeal and dedication for resolving the issues of the people leaving no scope for complain. The DDC called upon panchayat representatives to play active role in making people aware of different government schemes. |
