Aid and assistance for Budgam natives

BUDGAM : On the instructions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah divisional commissioner's office through Red cross provided aid and assistance to the natives of Budgam who were affected by the recent violence, which started from a scuffle between two people near Khomeni Chowk but snowballed into violence engulfing large areas in the district.
Regional Red Cross society's secretary Abdul Jabbar visited Deputy Commissioner’s Office wherein a meeting was held to assess the loss of property and other damages.181 blankets, 45 sets of kitchenware, dress material for around 100 people were among various things of daily importance which were distributed among the victims.
52 victims of violence from Sofipora, Shahpora and Allahpora were also given 5000rs each by the regional Red Cross society as a gesture of assistance.
