Ramnagar, July 31 : Block Congress Ramnagar have expelled Thakar Dass, contesting candidate of Congress in 2008 Assembly elections. In a statement a spokesperson of the party said, "Close on heels of a highly defamatory, debased, ugly, unholy and unfounded outbursts of Thakar Dass yesterday in a press-conference in Udhampur, an emergency meeting was convened here today under the chairmanship of Virinder Singh, General Secretary, Block Congress Ramnagar, while senior Congress leader, Vinod Khajuria, remained present as a special attraction." "The office-bearers as well as members of Block Congress Ramnagar as well as those hailing from Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal were unanimous in recommending his immediate expulsion from party. Block Congress Ramnagar has further barred the entry of Thakar Das in all organizational functions/Block Congress meetings/tour programmes of ministers and senior party functionaries supposed to be held in Ramnagar in near future," it said. Terming Thakur's tirade against R S Pathania as a bundle of lies and concoctions, Virender Singh sought interference of DCC, party Incharge from Udhampur district and PCC President and sent the expulsion order of Thakur to them for their consent and approval. They have also appealed to media to stop addressing him as 'senior Congress leader' as well as Tehsil and district - level administration to stop entertaining him as a Congress leader. They also appealed to the people of Ramnagar to not be further misled by this 'self-styled teacher-turned-contractor-turned-leader.' While calling Thakur, as a paid agent of Panthers Virinder Singh claimed that it has solid proofs and evidence in support of his allegation. "The recent statement delivered by Thakur was drafted, piloted and settled jointly by MLA Ramnagar and one district-level officer of Social Welfare Department," he said. |
