Damaged transformer renders Bantalab residents in darkness

Jammu, July 31: The tall claims of Power Development Department (PDD) to change damaged transformer of Bantalab within 2 days falls flat, as passing of three days the damaged has not repaired, rendering hundreds of resident in darkness.
Locals said that the damaged transformer has been taking huge toll over residents particularly the Muslim community, due to holy month of Ramzan.
"We are really fed up with power snapping since last three days. It creates lot of problem during Sehri and Iftar time", a resident rued. He further said that astoundingly, there was not any line man appointed by the PDD who check the pilferage in area, adding that due to illegal connections even the power remained very low. A student Neha said, "Power cuts made life to grinding halt and studies are affected badly it looks virtually living in a hell like condition". When contacted Chief Engineer PDD, she assured that the new transformer would be shifted in the evening.
