7/31/2013 11:56:35 PM
early times report
Jammu, July 31: Workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of its President Ashok Gupta took out a procession from Parde Ground to City Chowk here demanding separate statehood for Jammu.
Addressing the gathering Gupta said that the 70 percent amount of the total plan is diverted towards the people of valley, 20 percent to Jammu and the rest 10 percent to Ladakh. "Like in the case of modern villages Kashmir got 11 and Jammu only two. Each village has got Rs 33 lakhs so there is a monetary disparity of 6 crores," he said
"There is big hub of industries in Kathua, Bari Brahmna and Samba in which about 3326 small and big units are present while in valley the number of the units are merely 20 percent the units in Jammu marking upto 632. But the amount dispersed to the sick units of Jammu is 5.50 lakhs but in valley 3.07 crores were dispersed to the sick units which shows the unequal behaviour of the government towards Jammu from where it gets its maximum tax collection," he claimed.
"Most of the anti accession and anti Indian voices if at all have been raised, they are only from Kashmir valley. All these years J&K government have been kept in the hands of Kashmir valley leaders and still they have been raising questions on the intentions of India. Even the Muslim majority areas in Doda and Rajouri of Jammu region remained educationally, economically and infrastructure wise most backward due to negligence from valley centric leadership," Gupta said.
He added that Jammu region is 170 percent larger in size than Kashmir valley and there for only solution to correct anti Indian and anti people Kashmiri leaders would be to make Jammu region comprising of Jammu province and princely state of Jammu & Kashmir as existed in 1947. A separate state like Uttaranchal, this way the grievances if any of Kashmir valley leadership could be locally attended to as a separate state of India," Gupta opined.
He said that it was not out of place to mention that it is only some Kashmiri leaders who have led down people of J&K before the people of other Indian states by making the 13 December 2001 parliament attacker Afzal Guru look like a hero where as nobody outside Kashmir valley supported the anti Indian propaganda of his hanging.
Others who were present on the occasion included Sukhdev Singh, Geeta Devi, Ashish, Bantu and Tony.
