Jammu, Mar 20: The 10th Battalion of IRP organized a Civic Action Programme at Government Primary School Pacca Talab Bahu Fort Jammu. According to press release, besides students and staff members of the school, a number of prominent citizens of the area participated in the programme. As a gesture of goodwill, school bags, notebooks and other stationery items were distributed among the students of the school. Speaking on the occasion, Dhyan Chand thanked the Police department for organizing this event which is a positive step to bridge the gap between police and public and to bring the people more close to the Police. Vijay Kumar, Commandant IRP in his address to the gathering thanked the participants to join and make the civic action programme more colourful and successful. He informed them that during the colonial period, there was fear of Police in the minds of people, but now we live in a democratic country where rights of the citizens are protected and equality and justice prevails. He pointed out that it is observed that during present time, a number of youth get inclined to drug abuse and other anti-social activities which need to be curbed. For this noble cause, police requires assistance and support of the public. |
