Authorities recover `objectionable' material from a truck | Cross LoC trade again under cloud | | Mustansir SRINAGAR, Mar 20: The LoC trade is again under cloud with the authorities recovering what they called `objectionable' material from a truck today during the course of checking at Kaman Bridge near Salamabad crossing point in Uri. Informed sources told Early Times that during the routine checking, the officials of the cross LoC trade detected something objectionable in a truck carrying goods to Muzaffarabad from this side. They said as soon as the officials detected some objectionable material alert was sounded and thorough checking of men and material was carried out and driver of the truck was arrested for sustained questioning. Though the officials did not disclose the kind of objectionable material carried by the truck, however, it was clear that the thing recovered from the truck does not figure in the list of permissible items for cross LoC trade. "All we can say is that something highly objectionable material was found from a truck carrying goods to Muzzaffarabad," said the official. Pertinently, cross LoC trade was in news in near past and the trade was stopped for almost a month when police claimed that they recovered brown sugar worth crores of rupees from one of the trucks of PaK. However, today the authorities claimed to have found some "objectionable" thing from a truck of this side. |
