3/20/2014 11:55:13 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 20: Asserting that Peoples Democratic Party represents aspiration of people, the party candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency and former Deputy Chief Minister Muzzafar Hussain Baig on Thursday said that ensuing polls would be a golden opportunity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to write a new chapter of development, peace and prosperity. Addressing a meeting of party workers at Kunzar, Tangmarg, Baig said that Peoples Democratic Party was formed as an alternative in order to bring the state out of political and economic chaos, the ruling National Conference has plunged the state into. "It is a movement which represents not only the aspiration of people but also the hope to bring change, transparency, accountability, peace, development and prosperity", he said. Baig, who was accompanied by PDP Chief Spokesman and MLC Naeem Akhtar and local party leaders, said that the party in a short span of three years, during the previous coalition government, has delivered on ground and it was due to this reason that PDP today stands as a symbol of good governance, transparency, vision and accountability. Coming down heavily upon the National Conference, Baig said, "The ruling party today stands exposed before the people for its bad governance, nepotism, favouritism and corruption". "The people of Jammu and Kashmir had given another chance to National Conference which it has failed to utilize for the welfare of people and once again the leadership of this party has shown that they can sacrifice the state and its people for their own vested and personal interests". The PDP LS candidate asked the people to stay united and be part of the efforts in order to bring a considerable change in the state. "The ensuing elections would lay the foundation for a profound and total change in the state which 2014 can bring in", he said.
