Madan files nominations for Jammu LS seat in presence of Omar, Soz

Jammu, Mar 20: Madan Lal Sharma on Thursday filed his nomination from Jammu Parliamentary Constituency as a Congress nominee before the Returning Officer.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and President Pradesh Congress Committee Prof. Saifuddin Soz were present at the time of filing of nomination. According to reports received by KNS, a large number of Congress and NC leaders marched from Press Club Jammu to the Wazarat Road along with Sharma at the time of filing of nomination papers. Later addressing the gathering outside CM residence at Wazarat Road, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that NC-Congress coalition would win all six seats in the State.
Stating that there is UPA wave in the Country and the State, Shri Abdulla took a dig at the opposition especially BJP for claiming a wave in favour of Modi and questioned why he needs to contest from two Lok Sabha Constituencies, if there is a wave in their favour. He said that NDA had claimed wave in 2004 also & gave the slogan of "India shining" but got a bashing in the elections. Again in 2009 it claimed that NDA would come to power as UPA-I is a failure, but failed miserably in the elections. Now again the results would prove their claims wrong, adding that there is a crises in the BJP over seat sharing. President PCC Prof. Saifuddin Soz in his address thanked the gathering for their enthusiasm and participation in large numbers and said that Congress has always respected the aspirations of people of Jammu Region like other parts of the State. He said that UPA-I & II has extended full support to Congress-NC coalition to serve the best interests of the State and the electorates would respond in terms of votes in the elections. He said that coalition would succeed in winning all the six seats in the State Senior leaders of NC-Congress were present on the occasion. They include Dy. Chief Minister Tara Chand, Ministers Ajay Sadotra, Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, MOS Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, Surjit Singh Slathia, Th. Hari Singh, Prem Sagar Aziz, Rachpal Singh, Ravinder Sharma-MLC, G.N. Monga-MLC, R.S. Chib, Rani Balloria-MLC, G.M. Saroori-MLA, Naresh Gupta-MLC, Bashir Naaz, Khem Lata Wakhloo, Swarn Lata, Indu Pawar MLA, Ram Pal Ex-MLC, G.L. Chalotra Ex-MLA and several other prominent leaders.
