| Scholars highlight contribution of Kashmir to Indian aesthetics | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20:-Terming contribution of Kashmir to shaivism a great, the speakers today stressed on opening research and study centres all over India on Kashmir's contribution aesthetics. Participating in the three days seminar on contribution of Kashmir to Shaiv Shastra on the second day today, the scholars said Kashmiri Shaiv Shastra has unique place in darshan Shastras of India. The seminar has been organised by Sanskrit Prathishtan a deemed university at Kote Bhalwal and 81 scholars all over country are participating in it. Over 27 speakers participated in the seminar today which was of three session's .i.e. morning session, afternoon session and evening session. The speakers in detail highlighted the contribution of great Kashmiri Shaiv scholars like Mamatacharya, Acharya Utpal Dev, Ananwardan, Acharya Abhinavgupt, Kshminder, Bharat muni, Bhat Kalhat, Kalhan, Bilhan and Vasav gupt and others. They said among the darshan Shastras of India, Kashmiri darshan Shastra is on the top. While highlighting the contribution of Abhinav Gupt the speakers said he was the incarnation of Lord Shiva whose contribution to Indian aesthetics has been world over acknowledged . The commentary of Acharya Abhinav Gupt is considered the best commentaries in the world and Abhinav Gupt a great art critic whom nobody could surpass so far. The speakers also threw light on the contribution of Kshemendra the great disciple of Acharya Abhinavgupt. He has written volumes of commentaries on Kashmiri shaivism. The seminar started with the inaugural speech of Governor K.V Krishna Rao yesterday. The renowned shaivait Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai and many other scholars spoke during first day. The three day seminar will conclude tomorrow. The seminar will be followed by Annual Day function on December 22 in which first lady Usha Vohra will be the Chief Guest. |
