Yash Pal Sharma files nomination papers

Jammu, Mar 20: Amidst shouting of slogans and beating of dhols, Yash Pal Sharma today filed his nomination from Jammu -Poonch Parliamentary Constituency as a nominee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the Returning Officer.
Senior Leader Ved Mahajan, Dhaman Bhasin were present at the time of filing of nomination. Earlier hundreds of PDP workers gathered at JDA Park on the bank of the river Tawi. As Yash Pal Sharma reached the venue, over-enthusiastic workers resorted to shouting slogans ‘PDP Zindabad’. Responding to the over-whelming support of the party workers, Yash Pal Sharma said that PDP has been fighting Lok Sabha elections to intensify the movement for change in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that change is imminent in J&K and PDP would be instrumental in change. He said that PDP has carved out a path of development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir so it is need of hour to strengthen party for establishing lasting peace and accelerating developmental activities in the State. On this occasion PDP candidate also highlighted achievements of the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, and asked the people to compare tenure of PDP led government with the successive regimes of National Conference in the State. He reminded people it was during the regime of Mufti Mohd Sayeed many programmes and policies were formulated for the development of Jammu region. "PDP led regime removed discrimination of Jammu region", he said and called upon people to strengthen hands of Mufti Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. Later hundreds of PDP workers marched from JDA Park to the Wazarat Road along with . Yash Pal Sharma at the time of filing of nomination papers. Senior PDP leaders present on the occasion included Vice President T S Bajwa, Ex MLA Shanti Devi, Deepender Kour, Hussain Ali Waffa, Ab Hamid Choudhary, Rashid Malik, R K Bali, Th Suram Singh, Surjeet Kour, Rajender Manhas, Ashok Jogi, Aeek Singh Reen, Anju Bhan, Susheela Jamwal, Geeta Thakur and several other prominent leaders.
