JE, contractors attack office of XEn,one injured; FIR lodged 3/21/2014 12:04:12 AM Doda, Mar 20: Posted in Doda town for the last more than 15 years, a Junior Engineer (JE) of Public Health and Engineering (PHE) department who enjoys political patronage today attacked the office of Executive Engineer (XEN) Doda in which a Junior Assistant was injured. According to sources, the JE Viqar Ahmed Mir entered into verbal brawl with XEn Shahnawaz Mir over the issue of pending payments of three local contractors. They added that Viqar Mir, who is a local had been vociferously pleading their case with XEn and seeking release of payments at the earliest.Sources further added that Mir herald choicest of abuses at XEN which led to a Junior Assistant Pawan Parihar intervening. The intervention resulted in the trio alongwith JE beating the Junior Assistant blue and black, said the source. In the milieu, Junior Assistant (JA) of PHE Doda Pawan Parihar suffered injuries and had to be taken to hospital, said the source.Following this, XEN Doda alongwith the injured Pawan Parihar reached the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda with a complaint against the trio and JE Viqar. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda when contacted said "I received a complaint from XEN as well as Junior Assistant against the trio including the JE. I immediately forwarded it SP's office." He maintained that directions have been issued to inquire and take action against the accused.SP Doda Sharief Chauhan when contacted confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against the three alongwith JE. "We have registered FIR no. 47 under section 353, 323, 506 against the accused. Action has been initiated. All the accused would be arrested and necessary action would be taken," added Chauhan. He maintained that no one would be allowed to create nuisance in the district especially during these days."Elections are a few days away. We cannot allow anyone to pay with law and order. The four have been booked and would be arrested," Chauhan confirmed. When the officer of Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma was rung, an official said "Our Minister has issued clear cut instructions that no non-sense would be tolerated. Goodaism in department would be curbed with iron hands.
