| Jammu-Haridwar bus service to start from May 11 | | | Jammu, May 9 : Daily bus service from Jammu to Haridwar for the facility of devotees visiting the holy place is being pressed into service, from May 11, 2014.
Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Division, Jammu will flag off the bus service from general bus stand Jammu on May 11.
The air conditioned Volvo Bus, with sleeping facility as well will be leaving Jammu Bus Stand daily late evening at 7.30 Pm and reaching Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust premises Haridwar the next morning. Similarly, the AC sleeping bus will be leaving Haridwar from Jammu Yatri Bhawan premises in the late evenings, to reach Jammu next morning.
This new AC bus service being launched is in addition to SRTC bus service already running daily between Jammu and Hartdwar, The new bus service is being pressed into service on the persistent demand of growing number of devotees visiting the holy town. This will facilitate those who go to Haridwar for performing last rites of their deceased relatives at the banks of Ganga.
Jamana Tour & Travel Jammu on the request of JYBT has extended this facility for providing Bus service from Jammu to Haridwar and vice versa. The poor person / pilgrims visiting Haridwar for immersion of ashes of their deceased relatives and who cannot afford the bus fare will be carried free of any charges as agreed to by Jamana Tour & Travels. |
