| More than six decades of independence Mohra Kallar sans road connectivity | | | Early Times Report Mendhar, May 31 : It is twenty first century and more than six decades have passed since India got independence from the colonial British Empire but a village namely Kallar Mohra in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir till date sans road connectivity. How pathetic? The village facing the government's apathy is situated at a distance of about 10 kilometers away from the Jammu-Poonch National Highway but children of the village have to travel miles to study. Other than road connectivity issues, the villagers have not seen electric bulb and the government is at odds to explain why it is being ignored. As and when someone fells ill, the villagers arranges "Palkis" to reach the Mendhar hospital after travelling over a distance of 10 Kms. In this era when Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is also advocating e-governance plans in the state, it is shameful for him on the other end that till date there are number of rural areas in Jammu and Kashmir where like road and electricity, villagers have to face with number of problems every day. |
