| JCC BANK'S ENIGMA Orders Twirl, Heads Rotate | | Chairman bids adieu, HC restores order of Registrar | | Sumit Sharma JAMMU, May 31: The Jammu Central Cooperative Bank is again in news as quashing the Judicial Member, Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal, Jammu's stay order, the High Court Srinagar restored the previous order bearing No RCS/LS/566-568 passed by the Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K, Srinagar whereby he ceased the powers of Board of Directors of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Limited, Jammu and appointed Joint Registrar (Admn) Cooperative Societies, J&K to look after the affairs of the bank. "The High Court Srinagar restores the Govt's order, quashing the previous order of Court", Basharat Saleem, Registrar Cooperative Societies, said when contacted. Meanwhile, highly placed sources revealed that by Monday Joint Registrar (Admn) Cooperative Societies, J&K will look after the affairs of the bank. Pertinently, a temporary order was issued by the Registrar of the Cooperative Society namely Basharat Saleem for the appointment of the Mufti Frid ud-Din Jt.RCS (Adm) as administrator a couple of week ago, who took away the charge and affairs of the bank. The administrator was appointed to look after the affairs of the bank following Registrar Cooperative received the complaint of violation of the Cooperative Societies Act. The Complaint in this connection was filed by Multipurpose Cooperative Society Muthi Rakwalan District Kathua through its President claiming that election has been conducted without prior knowledge o the society and without proper publicity. He further claimed that the election has been conducted by flouting all the norms. It was also alleged that Chairman of the bank namely Mohinder Singh, bypassing all rules and act of the society, get the elections held in the four walls of his official chamber wherein he called some of his confidential member societies and returning officer namely Bhati of Ramnagar and declared himself elected. Following the appointment of the new administrator, Mohinder Singh challenged the jurisdiction of Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K and got respite from Court in the shape of stay order. |
