Early Times Report

Kathua, May 31: Alleging Omar led National Conference and Congress coalition government after its debacle is forcing Kathua people to face miseries especially a statement come from Congress candidate saying Kathua region has played significant role in his defeat', Kathua locals today said in post defeat scenario it (coalition) has forced the residents of the Kathua to face the severe unscheduled power cuts. Even after the several residents raised their voice for demanding the proper electricity supply but no complaints of power cuts are being entertained by authorities. The PDD seems to have totally failed and out of focus to render their responsibility of public service and left the people on the mercy of God. With temperature going beyond 40 degree mark, the demand of power has increased leading to complaints of frequent tripping and local faults forcing the residents of Kathua to go for protests and demonstrations against power cuts. The residents are facing problems due to undeclared power cuts for 12-15 hours.
Traders and school going students are worst hit and such power curtailments are being frequent after the major election defeat. "But the people should not be put at loser's end for any political battle/revenge particularly which results a factor of harassment to common masses," many of them lamented.
Protests against the Government and PDD are not limited to Kathua town only but people of neighboring localities and rural belts have also adopted agitational path against power woes. The traders, industrialists and people from all walks of society have been disappointed with the frequent power curtailments as everyone is feeling affected on the other hand concerned authorities dole out only assurances but do nothing to redress power scene.
