| Court awards one year imprisonment to scooter driver | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 31 (JNF): Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu Kamlesh Pandita today awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs. 2000 to one Farooq Ahmed Ansari who was driving scooter rashly and killed one boy.
According to the police case, on August 12, 2003; police came to know from reliable sources that the accused person namely Faoorq Ansari while driving and negligently hit one boy near Choudhary Tea stall Gujjar Nagar resulting into accident and injuries to one boy. During the investigation, injured succumbed to his injuries and offence u/s 304-A was added and after completion of investigation, challan was presented. After hearing both the sides, Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu Kamlesh Pandita observed that prosecution has been able to prove its case against the accused persons for the commissions of offence 279/304-A RPC and awarded one years imprisonment and fine of Rs 2000 for the commission of offence u/s 304-A RPC. |
