| JMC continues drive against adulterated milk | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 31: Following directions of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal, the enforcement squad during the ongoing drive against Milk & Milk Products today inspected various Milk & Milk Products shop at Jewel, Canal Road, Talab Tillo area of Jammu city. A team of Veterinary section under the supervision of Dr Zafar Iqbal Municipal Veterinary Officer JMC, on the direction of Commissioner JMC, inspected various Milk & Milk Products shop at Jewel, Canal Road, Talab Tillo area of Jammu city and inspected the premises of M/s Pargal Cheese Corner Talab Tillo Jammu. "During the inspection, Shopkeeper was asked to open the almirah in his shop however the trader evaded to open the almirah even giving an excuse that owner is out of station, JMC spokesperson said adding, "as the JMC team insisted for opening of almirah or the same shall be opened in presence of police.
It was then only the trader opened the almirah.' Spokesperson said that 22 packets of Milk Powder (Sifti Brand) each weighing 1 Kg were recovered from the almirah which were seized and handed over to the Health Officer JMC, who further directed the concerned Food Safety Officer to lift the sample & sent to Food Analyst Jammu to ascertain its standard of purity. |
