Kishtwar, May 31:- Though the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir last week announced the scraping new recruitment policy in last cabinet meeting, the majority of unemployed educated youths appearing for interviews of teachers postat Kishtwar are in dilemma over scraping of new recruitment policy apprehending fear if the samewill be applicable to them as well since the posts were advertised in May last year.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Jammu and Kashmir State Service Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) advertised 207 post of teachers for Kishtwar District in May 2013 for which over 5000 unemployed appeared from the District and on the bases of written test 696 candidates were short listed for final interview which is going on at Dak Banglow Kishtwar since 28-05-2014 and will continue till 3-06-2014 wherein three member committee headed by JKSSRB member Rohit Khajuria (KAS) while Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar Rajinder Singh and Principal Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar Javeed Ahmed Kichloo as its member. The desperation and zeal for jobs among the educated unemployed youths can be judged from heavy rush of job aspirants who turned for interview at Dak Banglow Kishtwar. While talking to "Early Times", several unemployed youths coming for the interviews said that many among them are not sure whether they will get full salary after selection or as per the old recruitment policy. Though the government has announced scraping the new recruitment policy, some said and added that it must not be merely an announcement but need to be implemented in practical.' Many of them lamented that educated lot viz. skilled and non skilled is in depression due to new job recruitment policy and shortage of jobs in government and private sector. Some rued that even the government's much hyped Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Guarantee scheme too has failed to deliver goods on ground reality as many still, are awaiting for stipend as promised by the government under this scheme. Some even suggested that there is need to advertise all the vacant posts laying vacant in various government departments and creating more opening in private sector so as to put a check on ever growing menace of unemployment.
It is pertinent to mention that 6.11 lakh unemployed youths are registered in different unemployed exchanges of the state which is highest percentage in any state of the country as per the population and over 400% increase since Omar Abdullah took over the reign of the state on January 5, 2009.
