| HC restrains state from making any adhoc promotions | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 17 : In a petition filed by Rajinder Kumar and ors presently Horticulture Development Officer challenging alleged adhoc promotions of private respondents as Incharge District Horticulture Officers who are further adhoc arrangements by making private respondents as Incharge Deputy Directors and equivalent posts in gross violation of the right of consideration of the petitioners. Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Adv FA Natnoo appearing for the petitioners issued notice to the Commissioner/secretary Agriculture Production Dept, Commissioner/secretary GAD, Administrative Secretary Horticulture, Directors of Horticulture Jammu & Kashmir returnable within four weeks and in the meanwhile Court directed the respondents that they shall not make any further arrangement on adhoc basis with regard to the private respondents against any higher post. Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur further directed that Incharge arrangement made in favour of petitioners, private respondents and other such members of the service shall not be extended beyond the period of six months and the official respondents shall take immediate steps for referring the vacancies to be filled up by promotion to the PSC/DPC within 15 days and the vacancies shall be filled up not later than six months. |
