JAMMU, June 17: PDP has jumped into the NC-BJP standoff that was triggered in Jammu the previous day when during a function of the Power Development Department, BJP MLAs confronted Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for the failure of his government to ensure power and drinking water supplies to people of Jammu region. Former Rajya Sabha member and vice president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Trilok Singh Bajwa said that outburst of Chief Minister against BJP MLAs has exposed clandestine alliance between two parties. Bajwa said that Omar's admission that BJP MLAs had voted for coalition candidates in 2009 Rajya Sabha elections and 2011 Legislative Council elections has authenticated PDP's allegations that NC coalition regime had purchased BJP MLAs. He said that Omar Abdullah has himself disclosed that during the last six years BJP MLAs have never raised any issue pertaining to the problem of general public of Jammu region. BJP MLAs have always sought personal benefits from Chief Minister by sacrificing interests of the people of Jammu region. Seeking to expose traitor BJP MLAs who have backstabbed people of Jammu region, Bajwa said that after Chief Minister's revelation one thing has established that except exploiting sentiments of the people of Jammu region BJP leaders have done nothing for the common masses. He regretted that after getting votes of the innocent people by exploiting their sentiments, BJP MLAs have betrayed the people and protected only their personal interests at the cost of common problem of the masses. PDP leader said that one thing has also became clear that Omar Abdullah and his father Dr Farooq Abdullah have given undue favour of BJP leaders and MLAs to sabotage interests of the people of Jammu region. While demanding probe into the assets of BJP leaders and their relatives, Bajwa said that government must reveal which types of undue benefits have been given to the BJP leaders and MLAs by the coalition government. |
