| Deputation calls on Chief Engineer PWD | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 5 : A delegation of people of several villages including Surinsar, Punjawa, Mansar, Purmandel, Sarna, Sagoon etc. led by BSP State President Tulsi Dass Langeh & State gen.sey.Bahujan Samaj Party Rakesh Wazir met Chief Engineer PWD Er.Abdul Hameed Sheikh The delegation apprised him that although the 7 KM road between Purmandal to Punjawa is partially complete and with the making of remaining 7 KM Punjawa - Surinsar Road and only remaining bridge between Surinsar and Tahra Suketar ( Domail ) at Tahra can connect more than 50 villages and can open a big tourist circuit in Jammu region by which we can divert a big chunk of Rs. 1.10 crore of annual Vaishnodevi Yatries to other religious places of Jammu region like Surinsar ,Purmandal, Utterbhani, Mansar, Baba Pher etc. Wazir while speaking to the chief engineer said that the expenditure on the remaining 7 KM Punjawa - Surinsar Road and only remaining bridge at village Tahra between Surinsar and National Highway Suketar Domail is very less but it will benefit more than 50 villages whose distance would be cut by more than 45 KM and in addition would open new avenues and would emerge as new pilgrimage circuit and asked for its completion at the earliest besides upgradation of already made 7 KM Purmandel-Punjawa road. The Chief Engineer PWD listened to the delegation patiently and assured that every effort would be made to make the bridge at Tahra Suketar and complete the remaining 7 KM Punjawa- Surinsar Road besides upgradation of 7 KM already made Purmandel- Punjawa Road at the earliest so that stay of the pilgrims be increased besides connectivity to the local people as well. |
