| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | Early Times Report Banihal, Aug 5: Police claimed to have arrested a bovine smuggler during a naka checking on National Highway NH-1A and rescued six bovines from his clutches which were being smuggled from Jammu to Srinagar. "The accused bovine smuggler has been identified as Mohamnad Shafi (driver) s/o Ghulam Mohammad of Banihal-Ramban district,' police sources said. According to police sources, naka team intercepted a TATA mobile vehicle (JK19-2603) on its way towards at Ramban and during the searching of vehicle police found six bovine animals loaded and being transported to Srinagar without proper permission from district authorities.' Following non procurement of due documents regarding inter district transportation of animals, the police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver of said vehicle on the spot. A case against FIR 104/2014 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA stands registered against the accused and further investigations are on. |
