DB grants two weeks time to DC Udh, DC Budgam to file report

Jammu, Aug5: A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding alleged nexus politicians, police officers, bureaucrats allegedly in connivance with land mafia in various part of J&K for allegedly land-grabbing in which petitioner has filed an application seeking CBI probe, directed Deputy Commissioners Budgam and Udhampur to file report within two weeks time.
During the course of hearing Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra submitted that he has already filed a status report on behalf of Vigilance Organization today in the registry.
According to the status report filed by Vigilance Organization in which they submitted that in pursuance to findings arrived at the verification No SVO-Veri-JMU-52/2013, five FIR cases have been registered in this Organization under FIR NO 15/2014, 16/2014, 17/2014, 18/2014 and 19/2014.. According to FIR NO 15/2014 registered with P/S VOJ on May 29, 2014 against then District Collector and Other revenue officers, in FIR NO 16/2014 registered with VOJ against Chanchal Dass, Joyti Parkash, Shadi Lal and Officers of Revenue Dept on the allegations of having committed bungling in implementation of J&K State Land (vesting of ownership to occupants) Act 2001 by vesting ownership rights to the beneficiary accused persons, in FIR NO 17/2014 registered with P/S VOK against officers of Revenue Dept of District Srinagar, 18/2014 of VOK against Revenue Officers of Pulwama and 19/2014 of VOK against Revenue Officials Budgam in which allegations of having committed bungling in implementation of J&K State Land (vesting of ownership to occupants) Act 2001 by arbitrarily fixing the price of land lower than the prevailing market rate of the area and putting the state exchequer to huge loss. In all the cases, further investigations are in progress. (JNF)
