Meeting on Communal Harmony held at Samba

Jammu, Aug 5: After elapse of couple of weeks of the Bari Brahmna communal incident in which property worth lakhs gutted besides injuries to many, district police Samba held meeting with the prominent persons of all localities and stressed for maintaining communal harmony. The meeting was headed by DIG Jammu- Samba- Kathua range Shakeel Beigh and SSP Samba Anil Magotra besides other police officers. The meeting was attended by respectables of district Samba in which peoples, senior citizens from all communities including Sarpanches and Punches of Distt. Samba participated.
DIG Jammu while speaking on the occasion urged upon the participants to remain united as brotherhood is key for progress of the nation. Beig also cautioned that some mischief mongers indulge in objectionable activities during important religious festivals/functions which sometimes lead to law & order problem. DIG Jammu further said that in view of forth coming Janamashtami festival/Independence Day celebration, some mischief mongers may become active. Participants were asked to identify and monitor the activities of anti social elements who oftenly indulge in objectionable activities to ensure communal harmony. The meeting which was attended by the hundreds of the people of all localities expressed their satisfactions and vowed for maintaining brotherhood. However, people have their own grievances which were lodged with the police. These including overloading, want of nakas en route to the border villages and character certificates.
The police officers assured the people that their grievances would be redressed with immediate step. Counting the achievements, SSP Samba Anil Magotra said that police have recovered around 16 kg Charas , keep checked on bovine smuggling besides numerous booked under PSA. He sought people cooperation for effective policing, which was applauded by the people.
