| Blood donation camp organized at GMC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: Blood donation camp was organized today by Dr Anil Kumar Dhar, Independent candidate from Jammu-West constituency in the premises of blood bank of GMC Jammu where large number of volunteers donated blood. Dr Dhar has been organizing such camps in the past also to facilitate easy availability of blood and blood products at blood bank of GMC Jammu for poor and needy patients coming from far flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir to GMC Jammu.
Later talking to media, Dr Dhar underlined the importance of media covering such events to increase awareness of masses about blood donation as such and also about the fact that blood donation is a safe procedure and more and more healthy individual between 18 and 58 years of age should come forward for blood donation so that no life is lost because of non-availability of blood or blood products.
He further thanked the Postgraduate Department of Transfusion Medicine and all the volunteers for their cooperation in making the camp a successful event. |
