| No word from state about grant of Rs 1,100cr | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 17: When Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited the state on September 5 to take stock of the flood situation, he disclosed that the Centre has provided Rs 1,100 crore to the state as natural calamity fund. Singh had stated that the state should immediately utilize that grant for relief and rehabilitation of the affected people. On his visit the next day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in addition to the Rs 1,100 crore already provided to the state by the Centre as natural calamity fund, the Centre would initially provide an additional Rs 1,000 crore to the state. Till now, the state government has neither confirmed nor denied the receipt of Rs 1,100 crore as natural relief fund. |
