Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Oct 25: A renowned Social Activist from Doda Nuzhat Iqbal Zarger who had decided to contest the state Legislative Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Doda constituency said that she cannot sit inside the four walls of his house and let the society ruin at the hands of present day politicians. While talking to "Early Times", 55 year old Nuzhat Iqbal is likely to create history by being the first ever woman to contest from Doda constituency said that her political career started by leading some movements in the erstwhile Doda district.
She said that she had been instrumental in the agitation held by the Safai Karamcharis in J&K, particularly in Doda.
"I dedicated myself for the cause of girls and women--- devoted myself for the service of the society by way of associating myself with NGOs working for rights of women," said Nuzhat, adding "I owe my success as a political leader to my maternal grandmother ''.
She said that she belongs to a politically sound family and her grandmother had been a source of inspiration for her. "Modern day women are second to none and can contribute equally towards the society. My aim is to serve the people of Doda in a better way as the successive politicians who represented the Doda in past failed to address the problems faced by the people."
Nuzhat expects the Doda people to support her. "Doda District lacks development in terms of non availability of better education facilities, roads, poor health infrastructure and unemployment. Present political dispensation is responsible for the worst condition of not only Doda, but entire Chenab region.
The people will teach them a lesson. Time has come for the people of Doda constituency to get rid of the system and usher in a new era of development.".
