CCI demands relief package for traders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 25: President of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) today demands package relief for those traders which lost their property in fire incidents. According to press release, in a meeting of the Office bearers of Chamber of Commerce & Industry held under the Presidentship of Rakesh Gupta its President, deep concern was expressed over the fire incident which broke out in the Bahu Cold Storage and Ice Factory Pvt. Ltd. at Narwal Mandi in which goods worth several crores of rupees of Jammu traders were guttted. The President CCI urged upon the government to announce a relief package for the traders whose goods have been destroyed due to fire incident in the Cold Storage. Meanwhile a delegation of the Office bearers of Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Rakesh Gupta and accompanied by Arun Gupta, Secretary General and Rahul Mahajan, Secretary met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and requested him on behalf of the traders of Jammu to constitute a committee to assess the loss due to this fire incident. The President also handed over the list of sufferers whose goods have been destroyed in the fire to the Divisional Commissioner. The Divisional Commissioner assured the deputation that he will constitute a committee to assess the losses and also find out the reason behind this fire incident so that such incidents are not repeated in other cold storages. |
