Younis Khan scores record 26th Test ton for Pakistan | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Oct 25: Veteran batsman Younis Khan today scored a record 26th Test ton for Pakistan. He achieved this feat in the ongoing first Test match against Australia on the fourth day in Dubai. The star player notched up a brilliant 103 not out off just 147 deliveries in the second innings, as Pakistan set a target of 434 runs for Australia to chase. Younis, 36, surpassed former Pakistan skipper Inzamam ul Haq's total of 25 centuries in the longer format of the game. The middle-order batsman struck centuries in both innings of the Test match. He had equalled Inzamam's record earlier on Wednesday. In the first innings, he scored a well made 106 as Pakistan put up a huge score of 454 runs on the scoreboard. In the second innings, Younis played a crucial role once again alongside Ahmed Shehzad to give Pakistan a big advantage going into the wee hours of the fourth day. His sublime innings consisted of six fours and two sixes. Australia skipper Michael Clarke congratulated Younis after his record breaking ton. |
