Jammu, Nove 22: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council today organized one-day seminar on sports injuries.
According to press release, Dr Sumit Mahajan, MS, DNB, M.Ch (Orthopaedics), who has got specialized training in sports medicine, presented the seminar. Coaches from different sports and games participated in this seminar. They were educated about various sports injuries, their prevention and cure. Special emphasis was given on recent advances in form of arthroscopic or keyhole surgeries, which can give a sports player a new professional life.
Seminar was followed by the question and answer session where the doctor clears their doubts and problems faced by them in the practice sessions. Rajan Sharma, divisional sports officer, told that such seminars are very important to raise the standard of sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
It not only educates them for various sports related problems but also provides remedies for their injuries. On this occasion, Dr Sumit Mahajan has offered free consultation to all injured sports player and coaches at SDDM Hospital, Channi Himmat, Jammu, for which they earlier have to go outside state for the treatment. |
